ROLE PROFILE
The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and financial planning for NLTRA, ensuring the smooth running of NLTRA’s finances by assessing financial activity, identifying solutions to financial issues, and preparing reports. A key aspect of this role is the funding compliance oversight of NLTRA’s two main budget sources: the NLTTBID and the TOT funds, and the alignment of that spend within the marketing and stewardship goals of NLTRA. Additionally, this role is responsible for oversight of the Human Resources and Information Technology functions of NLTRA.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Oversees development and management all NLTRA budgets and is responsible for NLTRA’s funding compliance efforts related to distribution of the NLTTBID and TOT funding
- Tracks and analyzes NLTRA’s balance sheet on an ongoing basis to monitor alignment and identify potential efficiencies and gaps
- Effectively communicates the financial status and storyline for each vertical in the organization, and leverages financial story to drive results
- Works with the Placer County staff on finance and budget matters affecting the NLTRA and its mission and goals
- Prepares detailed project descriptions, prepares RFPs, selects consultants, negotiates and manages contracts, and performs budget and payment scrutiny.
- Attends and participates in community meetings which further the mission and goals of the NLTRA
- Oversees departmental administrative support of Finance Committee
- As a member of the NLTRA Senior Leadership Team, assists in developing and leading team culture and implementation of cross functional goals and supporting initiatives
- Ensures that diversity, equity, and inclusion are a part of the organization’s culture
- Works closely with other NLTRA department heads to ensure strong and effective communications interdepartmentally
- Prepares and presents written progress reports to CEO, Finance Committee, and NLTRA Board
- Manages the Human Resources function at NLTRA, ensuring proper processes and compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws
- Manages the Information Technology function at NLTRA, ensuring that systems, contractors, and service providers are managed to meet the needs of the business and comply with regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested
