While we understand that this holiday season will look and feel a little different, we still want to encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly and safely. You can still get your holiday warm and fuzzies by supporting our resilient community — mask up and shop locally, order takeout from your favorite restaurants, give back and volunteer your time, or consider making a donation to our amazing nonprofits! All the little things add up and make a huge difference.
NORTH TAHOE SHOP & WIN CONTEST
The North Lake Tahoe Resort Association and regional business associations have teamed up to help make holiday shopping even more rewarding this year. In an effort to encourage shopping local, we have created a 5-week holiday shopping scavenger hunt to drive locals and visitors around the region to complete shopping related challenges.
The contest will run through the Goosechase App which is free to download and use. Once players join the contest on the app, they will see over 100 challenges to complete for points. Each week a team/player will be selected to win prizes and at the end, the team/player who acquired the most points will win a grand prize. We will be encouraging shopping safely this season, reiterating the importance of wearing a mask and making sure to physically distance.
NORTH TAHOE BUSINESS GIFT CARDS & ONLINE SHOPPING
Support local North Lake Tahoe businesses today. Buy a gift card now, use it later, and help support the regional businesses that need us more than ever. In addition to purchasing a gift card, visit our online shopping category to purchase items in real time from some of your favorite North Lake Tahoe businesses.
UNDER CURRENT COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS, RESTAURANTS ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO OFFER TAKEOUT AND DELIVERY
The North Lake Tahoe Resort Association (NLTRA) recently launched Takeout Tahoe, an initiative to support and promote local restaurants through winter and beyond. The campaign includes a downloadable guide to help visitors and locals navigate the 150+ restaurant options in the region, a North Tahoe EATS Facebook Page, and a contest element that will award restaurant gift cards to further support eating local. The NLTRA recognizes that To-Go options mean extra waste. Included with all Takeout Tahoe promotional materials is an underlying theme that reinforces a Leave No Trace message. For more information about the Takeout Tahoe campaign, visit GoTahoeNorth.com.

PREPARING FOR THE 20/21 WINTER SKI SEASON
North Lake Tahoe ski resorts and winter recreation sites are gearing up for winter, modifying their operations and expanding health safeguards to guarantee a safe and enjoyable winter season in North Lake Tahoe. While some ski resorts may differ slightly in their operations, social distancing, mask requirements, and capacity limits are being planned across all North Tahoe ski resorts to protect public health during the winter. North Lake Tahoe is urging guests to visit the websites of individual ski resorts for the most up-to-date information when planning a winter trip. You can also check out the National Ski Area Associations Ski Well, Be Well guide which highlights operational practices most resorts are implementing, NLTRA’s COVID-19 informational page, or NLTRA’s blog that gives tips on what you need to know before visiting the region this winter season.
