Please join Supervisor Cindy Gustafson for a hybrid Eastern Placer Evacuation and Emergency Preparedness Town Hall.
Sheriff Wayne Woo, CAL FIRE Chief Brian Estes and the Placer County Emergency Management team will provide an overview of emergency preparedness efforts in eastern Placer County including wildfire history, information on evacuation procedures, an incident scenario demonstration, and general emergency preparedness resources and practices for residents and visitors. The Town Hall will conclude with a question and answer session virtually and in person following the presentation.
CAL FIRE, PCSO, Placer County OES, Placer County Water Agency and Liberty Utilities will also have tables with additional resources for attendees.
The event agenda includes presentations by experts from the participating agencies, who will cover topics such as:
- Understanding evacuation options and strategies during an emergency
- Understanding the network of allied agencies and how they train and prepare in North Tahoe
- Tips for creating effective emergency evacuation plans for households and communities
- How to stay informed and receive timely alerts during critical situations
- Available local resources for emergency assistance and support
This town hall offers a unique opportunity for eastern Placer County residents to engage directly with their local emergency response agencies, voice concerns, ask questions and gain a better understanding of the best practices for emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures.
