State Updates Blueprint to Allow Additional Activities + Events with Modifications to Reduce Risk
With vaccination rates increasing and the state’s COVID-19 test positivity rate near a record low, last Friday the California Department of Public Health released updates to the state’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy reopening framework. Placer County remains in the red tier however new guidance is in place for gatherings, receptions, conferences, and indoor live events.

Purple Tier: No indoor events. Outdoor events for up to 25 people. With proof of testing/vaccine, capacities increase to 100 for outdoors only.
Red Tier: Outdoor events allowed for up to 50 people. With proof of testing/vaccine, capacities increase to 200 for outdoors only, or 100 people indoors.
Orange Tier: Outdoor events allowed for up to 100 people. With proof of testing/ vaccine, capacities increase to 300 for outdoors only, or 150 people indoors.
Yellow Tier: Outdoor events allowed for up to 200 people. With proof of testing/vaccine, capacities increase to 400 for outdoors only, or 200 people indoors
All masking requirements will still apply and guest counts will include all staff.

Moving Beyond the Blueprint
California now has the lowest COVID-19 positivity rate in the nation. On April 7, Governor Newsom announced a goal of June 15 for a full reopening, noting ongoing mask wearing, vigilance and continued vaccinations as common sense reduction measures. Learn more Vaccine Update
Placer County continues to be a leader in vaccination distribution, surpassing the State’s average in doses per 1,000 of population. As of Monday, Apr. 5, 212, 413 doses have been administered in Placer County.
Are you 50+? As of April 1, Placer County residents age 50 and above are eligible for COVID-19 vaccination. Appointments are currently available at the County’s clinic, and many other providers across the County have also expanded eligibility.
Looking ahead, Placer County will be moving forward with the vaccine eligibility timeline outlined by the state with residents 16+ starting April 15. If you haven’t yet gotten your vaccine – please text PLACERVACCINE to the number 898211 and you will be notified as more appointments are available. For those who need assistance, please call 211.
