Placer County to host free small business accessibility compliance workshop March 5
AUBURN, Calif. — Placer County is inviting business owners to participate in a free small business workshop on Americans with Disabilities Act compliance March 5.
The workshop, hosted by the Placer County Community Development Agency – Building Services Division, is designed to help local small business owners better understand ADA compliance requirements and various resources available to help business owners. The workshop will be facilitated by California Certified Accessibility Specialists, or CalCasp.
“A common misconception among business owners is that ADA compliance is difficult or expensive,” said Mark Wood, principal with CalCasp. “There are many things business owners can do to improve accessibility for patrons. We hope this workshop will address many compliance concerns.”
The workshop will be held from 5:30 – 7 p.m. on March 5 at the Community Development Resource Center’s Planning Commission Hearing Room, 3091 County Center Drive in North Auburn. Light refreshments will be served before the workshop at 5 p.m.
North Lake Tahoe business owners are also invited to participate in the workshop via video stream at the Customs House, 775 N Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City.
“Workshop attendees are welcome to bring photos related to their business and ask questions,” said Jeff Thomas, Placer County Building Services Division manager. “This is a great opportunity for business owners to find out how to make or keep their business compliant.”
