Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga
There are many ways to enjoy yoga in Lake Tahoe, but few will get you as close to nature as stand up paddleboard yoga. Well Being Massage & Skin Care hosts the last SUP yoga sessions of the season on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through Labor Day weekend. Experience the peaceful, healing effects of Lake Tahoe as you take your yoga practice to a whole new level! Classes are taught by long time local and certified stand up paddleboard (SUP) instructor and yoga teacher, Eileen Allen. A dedicated SUP yoga teacher, Eileen is enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge and years of experience, ensuring a safe and enjoyable SUP Yoga experience on the beautiful, crystalline waters of Lake Tahoe. Tahoe Star Tours
Northstar California invites you to think big, REALLY big, and look up to the stars with the last tour of the summer season on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 8:15-10:30pm at Dark Skies Cosmoarium at Northstar California with star guide and poet Tony Berendsen for an intimate look at the Sierra stars. Bring childlike curiosity and wonderment to view the cosmos with Ryan Berendsen, telescope extraordinaire, through high-powered Celestron telescopes. 7th Annual Labor Day Fireworks Spectacular
Gar Woods Grill & Pier and the Monte Foundation will be putting on the 7th Annual Fireworks Show on Sunday, September 1st, 2019. The free show starts at 8:30 PM and will last approximately 20 minutes. This show benefits North Tahoe and Truckee School Sports Programs and Gar Woods is collecting donations for the cause. Local High School Athletes will be selling Glow Sticks, Flashing Headbands and other fun Fireworks Swag on the beach to raise money for their teams. Please bring a blanket, post up on Gar Woods beach and enjoy the show. Don’t forget to bring $5 – $10 if you want to support local sports programs (not required), and please make reservations in advance if you plan to dine at Gar Woods Grill & Pier. Labor Day Beach Cleanup
Keep Tahoe Blue League to Save Lake Tahoe presents Labor Day Beach Cleanup. The beaches can get thrashed with trash after the popular holiday weekend festivities. Help Keep Tahoe Blue keep our beaches clean from 8:30am-12:00pm on Monday, September 2, 2019. They provide cleanup materials, refreshments and a prize. Ride your bike to receive a special gift. Balls in the Ruff Golf Tournament
The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe with MOBO Law, LLP, present the 4th annual Balls in the Ruff Golf Tournament Friday, September 13th, 2019 at Tahoe Donner Golf Course. Registration begins at 11:00am for a noon shotgun start. Golf is $160.00 per player, includes golf, cart, box lunch and awards dinner. Additional dinner tickets can be purchased for $45.00 each. Music on the Beach
Start your holiday weekend off right with the final concert of our free music Friday series, Music on the Beach. Friday, August 30, 2019 will feature home-grown Kings Beach bluegrass band, The Wrinkle. Food vendors, D’Lish Catering and Cheri’s Hand Dipped Ice Cream plus Alibi Ale Works beer, and wine will be available starting at 6pm and concert will begin at 6:30pm. Autumn Food & Wine Festival
If you’re around the late in the month of September, head to the 34th Annual Autumn Food & Wine Festival from September 20-22, 2019. An annual weekend of food, wine, seminars, gourmet marketplace vendors, culinary demonstrations, wine tastings, and the Sunday Grand Tasting and Culinary Competition takes place at the Village at Northstar.
