Donate by April 15th to provide healthy, nutritious food to our North Lake Tahoe/Truckee neighbors
Food is routinely the last basic need considered within a low-income household’s budget, forcing many households to either buy less food or cut food costs where they can. These cuts often come at the expense of food quality and can lead to a host of negative health consequences that result from malnutrition and nutrient deficiency.
Perhaps the most disturbing statistic surrounding food insecurity is the impairment of academic development in school-age children.
As approximately 30% of the individuals served by Project MANA are children under the age of 18, we hope that as a result of providing sustenance and nutrition these children will be in a better position to obtain the maximum benefit from their education.
By supporting Project MANA, you can help mitigate the adverse health outcomes that can result from food insecurity by providing children and families with nutritious food choices.
