Award-winning Tahoe Weather Historian Mark McLaughlin’s newest book covers the Top 10 biggest winters in the Tahoe Sierra, based on snowfall measured at Donner Pass. Residents and travelers in the Sierra Nevada endured some of the most brutal winter storms in the world. Snowfall measured in feet, 200 miles per hour wind gusts, and destructive avalanches. This fast-paced snapshot presentation captures the compelling stories and dramatic images of railroad and highway crews fighting mountain blizzards and deadly avalanches from historic winters past. SNOWBOUND! was awarded Best Non-Fiction Book in 2017 by the Northern California Publishers & Authors Association.
SNOWBOUND! is available for sale in the Visitor Center store and at the event for signing.
