The North Tahoe Business Association is inviting artists to be a part of our NEW Bear Box Art Program: “Think Outside the (BEAR) Box.”
Art is a very special and important part of NTBA’s District, which includes Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista, Carnelian Bay and Crystal Bay. Our district, and especially Kings Beach has art projects throughout our community from sculptures in our roundabouts to murals throughout town. We have a wonderful community of Artists throughout North Lake Tahoe and the goals of this program are to support our Artists and their businesses, as well as to bring art and beautification to our neighborhoods, public areas and communities.
NTBA’s NEW Bear Box Art Program will run throughout the summer of 2021, allowing NTBA Artist Corner members to book with interested participants throughout the community. We will be hosting a Bear Box Art walk on September 11, in which we will invite our community members out to safely walk the streets and view all these wonderful new pieces of art. We will have some fun contests and “Best of…” to engage our community members and artists. In addition, NTBA also plans to engage our youth through “Bear Box Art BINGO”. Further information about our Community Bear Box Art Day will be announced throughout the summer months.
We encourage our Artists to get creative with this opportunity to make local bear boxes into creative canvases throughout our community.
ARTIST REQUIREMENTS
We ask that you are an NTBA Artist Corner Member – just $75 annually to join and you will receive membership benefits and a specific Artist Corner directory page on our website. Please see benefits and how to join HERE.
All Bear Box Pricing at $75 per side or $300 for an entire Bear Box (price can vary depending on artist and art medium chosen)
All types and styles of visual art are accepted including painting, sculpture, glass art, and more! For all Visual Art outside of paintings: please submit your description of work and pricing (per side of a Bear Box).
Ability to complete the Art by September 7, 2021
TIMELINE
June 4, 2021: Bear Box Artist Applications Available.
June 9, 2021: Bear Box Participant Applications Available.
July 13, 2021: Bear Box Artists & Bear Box Participants will be matched and NTBA will connect them (if they haven’t already been paired).
July 6 – September 7, 2021: Bear Box Painting. (All Boxes must be painted by September. 7, 2021)
September 11, 2021: Bear Box Art Walk Contest & Bear Box Bingo & Raffle – Bear Box Art Community Day
