The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe will be holding a poster contest for Truckee/North Tahoe children, K-5th grade, for the upcoming Be Kind to Animals Week, May 7-11, 2018. Entries must be received by 6:00pm Thursday, May 3rd. Entries can be dropped off at the Town of Truckee Animal Shelter/HSTT, located at 10961 Stevens Lane, Truckee, during business hours Monday-Saturday, 10am-6pm. Students can create any drawing they would like centered around the theme ‘Be Kind to Animals’.
They will select contest winners in each of the following three categories:
K-1st grade
2nd-3rd grade
4th-5th grade
Winners in each category will win an HSTT t-shirt of their choice OR an HSTT hat. We will also invite all winners to a photo shoot with staff, which will be featured on our social media sites. The winner’s posters will also be hung in the main lobby for the rest of the month. All posters will be hung in the HSTT Education and Training Room for May 7-11, in celebration of Be Kind to Animals Week. Judging will take place and winners will be announced May 4th via email, Facebook and Instagram.

Rules:
1. Poster size is 11” by 17” horizontal or vertical.
2. Use any medium such as markers, paint, colored pencil, or crayon. Please no pastels.
3. Do original work; no tracing, group work or computer generated art.
4. Students may submit one entry.
5. Each entry must have the child’s name and grade level written on it in order to be entered in the contest.
6. Students will be judged on how their art relates to the theme, creativity, and neatness.
7. All entries will become property of the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, where they may be displayed.
