Free Grass Valley Business Resilience Workshop
One in four small businesses never reopen after a disaster. Nine in 10 fail within a year unless they are able to reopen within five days of a disaster. Don’t let your business become part of this statistic. Learn how to “Disaster-Proof Your Business” at this upcoming free half-day workshop on May 17 at the Foothills Event Center.
Grass Valley is a “severe wildfire risk” community, CalFIRE’s highest-risk category, yet many businesses remain ill prepared for the risks posed by wildfire. At the Disaster-Proof Your Business workshop, businesses will learn how to prepare their employees, operations, and assets before disaster strikes. Join workshop co-hosts Sierra Business Council, Valley Vision, and the Greater Grass Valley Chamber to learn about understanding your risks and your environment, assessing your readiness, taking action, updating and testing your resilience plan, and engaging with community resiliency efforts.
You’ll leave this hands-on, action-oriented workshop knowing why business resiliency is important, what free, accessible resources can help you build resilience into your business, and having made a solid start on your own resiliency plan.
All attendees will also be entered into a raffle to win a grand prize: a $225 Emergency Survival Kit. This kit will provide sanitation, food, water, light, communication, warmth and tools for a business of up to 10 employees. This emergency kit is highly recommended as a first step to preparing a businesses for natural disasters, before and during an event.
