Carnelian Bay Beach

Located between Sierra Boat Co. & Gar Woods, this is a wide, smooth-pebbled beach has great sun exposure. Rent a stand up paddleboard or grab a cup of coffee from Waterman’s Landing or walk over to Gar Woods for a world famous Wet Woody. Parking is along the road or across the street in one of the commercial parking areas.

Patton Beach

Small stony beach adjacent to Sierra Boat Co. Marina and the Kayak Cafe in Carnelian Bay. Picnic tables and limited parking.

Tahoe Vista

Tahoe Vista Recreation Area

Located at National Avenue and Highway 28 this is a recently upgraded facility that includes a boat launch, picnic area, restrooms, kayak rentals, a large plaza available for rent for parties and a variety of restaurants from casual to fine dining are nearby.

Moon Dunes Beach

Located off Hwy 28 (directly across from Rustic Cottages), Moon Dunes Beach is a small, rustic white-sand beach that offers fire pits and picnic tables. This beach is owned by the California Tahoe Conservancy so if you plan to use this beach to launch your kayak, please visit http://tahoekeepers.org/ and be sure that you follow proper precautions in order to protect Lake Tahoe. No services are available at this beach so plan to bring a picnic and water.

Kings Beach

Coon Street Boat Launch & Beach

Located on the east end of Kings Beach off of Coon St. Features restrooms, picnic area with grills, boat launch, farmers market and dog area. There is a parking and boat launch fee.

Kings Beach State Recreation Area

Located in downtown Kings Beach off Hwy 28, this beach features a beautiful flat smooth sandy beach area. Known for its shallow, warm waters, the Kings Beach area is one of the most popular beaches on Lake Tahoe. Pack a picnic before you come or walk to one of the many nearby restaurants and markets in downtown Kings Beach, and attend Music on the Beach on Friday nights this summer!

Crystal Bay

Speedboat Beach

Located right on the state border west of Nevada, this is a small, secluded beach featuring fun rock formations for climbing, hopping and jumping off. Bring your own water and a picnic for the day or stop by the beautiful beach on your paddleboard or kayak. From Hwy 28, take Speedboat Avenue down to Lake Street near Crystal Bay. There is very limited parking, so biking, walking, and paddling to the beach is best.
